Varnish
Take a look at Varnish, learn more details on website accelerators and find out exactly what it is they do.
Varnish is a web app accelerator tool, which has been gaining a lot in popularity lately, because it can increase the load speed of any Internet site, sometimes even by 100%, based on the content itself. This tool is sometimes called an HTTP reverse proxy too and is used to decrease the overall load on the physical machine and to boost the access speed for the site visitors. Whenever a visitor accesses a page on a particular site, the web browser request is processed by the web server and the requested info is returned as a reply. If Varnish is activated, it caches the pages that the site visitor browses and if any of them is accessed again, it is fetched by Varnish and not by the web server directly. The boost in the performance comes from the fact that the accelerator handles the web requests substantially quicker than any web server, which results in much faster browsing speeds for the users. If any data is modified meanwhile, the cached web pages will also be ‘refreshed’ the next time somebody tries to access them.

Varnish in Shared Hosting
Varnish is offered as an optional upgrade with each
Linux shared hosting and if you want to use it, you can add it to your web hosting account using the Upgrades section in your Hepsia Control Panel. There’re two different features that can be upgraded – the instances and the memory. The first one refers to the number of the websites that you wish to use Varnish for and the second one, which comes in increments of 32 megabytes, indicates the total amount of data that the data caching platform can store at any given moment. Hepsia’s intuitive graphical interface will enable you to switch off or to reboot any instance, to see detailed system logs or to clear the platform’s cache with just click of the mouse. For optimum results, you can use a dedicated IP address for the websites that will use the platform. With Varnish, your Internet site will load significantly faster, which means more happy users and potential customers.

Varnish in Semi-dedicated Servers
Varnish comes by default with all
Linux semi-dedicated servers offered by us and you can use it for load distribution purposes. It’s available in your Hepsia hosting Control Panel. The Varnish content caching platform comes with 64 MB of system memory for cached data storing purposes and you can use it with any site that you host in your semi-dedicated server account. If you’re in need of more, you can increase the system memory quota. The memory itself is available in increments of 32 megabytes in the Control Panel’s Upgrades section. The exact same section will enable you to enable more instances as well, in case you’d like to use Varnish with multiple websites. The two upgrades can be ordered separately – you can cache the content of one single traffic-heavy website or use several Internet sites with the default memory allocation. You can get the most out of Varnish in case you’ve got a dedicated IP address and you can get one with your semi-dedicated plan as well. Hepsia will grant you total control over the platform and, with no more than one single click, you will be able to clear the cache, to see a system log or to reboot an instance.

Varnish in VPS Servers
You can take advantage of Varnish with each of our
VPS server plans at no extra charge, as the platform is pre-installed and is included by default. The one and only condition is that the VPS must come with the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will be able to set up Varnish for any of your sites with just a couple of clicks. Each plan includes a different amount of system memory for data caching purposes, but you will have no less than several hundred MB, which is enough even for several resource-hungry Internet sites. Shortly after you activate the Varnish platform, it will begin caching the content that your site visitors open, so you will notice the considerably better web page loading speeds and the less load very soon. The Varnish platform will allow you to use a less costly Virtual Private Server, as you will not need that many resources to sustain the proper operation of your websites even if you manage large Internet sites with numerous visitors. Best results are accomplished if the Internet sites that use Varnish use also a dedicated IP address.

Varnish in Dedicated Servers
You can employ Varnish to increase the loading speed of any website that is hosted on a
dedicated server from us when the Hepsia hosting Control Panel is pre-installed on the machine. Not only will you get the content caching platform ready to be used at no additional charge, but you’ll also exert full control over it through Hepsia’s easy-to-work-with graphical interface. It’ll take only one click of the mouse to start or disable an instance or to delete the cached data associated with any site that is using Varnish and in case you are more tech-savvy, you can also see the platform’s logs. Varnish comes with at least 3 GB of virtual memory for content caching purposes, so even if you run a huge number of websites on your dedicated server and they all use the caching platform, the difference in their overall performance will be detectable. You’ll simply have to wait for a while till Varnish caches whatever pages the site visitors load on their end. The platform performs best if the sites use a dedicated IP, but owing to the fact that our servers come with 3 free-of-charge IPs, you will have all that you need.
